About US
Julie Schmidt
Julie, owner and operator, personally oversees the care and feeding of
each dog that stays at the kennel. She has been active in the
canine and equestrian field for most of her life. She
started at a young age in 4H showing dogs and horses. Most
recently she attended the Vohne Liche Kennel's Handlers and Patrol
Trainers courses. As a member of the Police Departments K-9
division, she handled patrol, arson, and narcotics dogs.
Currently she lives on the kennels 5 acres in Jefferson County and has
a great love for dogs & horses. Her goal is to treat every
dog that stays at the kennel as if they were her own. More
importantly, her work with dogs has given her a "sense" and
"feel" for the needs of her kennel guests. Teddy
Parks
Teddy began training dogs at an amateur level in 1982 and
professionally for over 10 years; during that time, he has trained over
50 dogs. He has considerable knowledge in training programs to
help even the most problematic, seemingly hopeless cases. In
addition, Teddy joined the Jefferson County Police Department in 1991
and transferred to the K-9 unit in 2000 as a dog handler. Teddy
currently is the unit trainer for the Police Department's K-9 unit.
